Oh I love it when things work out like this.
Bad news, the plans for our new house had a column at the end of our kitchen peninsula that would have made the breakfast room seemed closed off from the rest of the kitchen and living room.

Things are changing here at The Scoop, once again. Lolly Jane and Crafty Texas Girls have decided to take the summer off from blogging. Yes, that means Lolly Jane and Texas Crafty Girls will no longer be part of The Scoop BUT rest assured, the party will go on. Cedar Hill Ranch and Farmhouse Porch will continue THE SCOOP, and soon we will be announcing who the new hosts will be.
Now onto The Scoop, the weekly link party that features the scoop on the best posts from around the web. As always, add your link to our blog and it automatically shows up on 5 amazing blogs. More exposure + less time = win win!

Happy Father's Day everyone. I hope you're giving your dad a big hug and kiss today!!
Father's Day isn't all that's going on around here. Our house went on the market a week ago. The new house is progressing too. This week they are working on the tile and the paint. Next will be appliances, lighting, and plumbing, and then refinishing the reclaimed floors.
I'm loving my design job working for my builder. The clients are so nice, and the guys I work with are pretty cool too. This week I'll be photographing some of our homes that were finished recently. I'll be sharing the photos later.
As for THE SCOOP, here are the top viewed links from last week.

What Camera Should I Buy?
I recently received a message from my sweet friend Betsy asking me to recommend a camera for her. She's a blogger and is wanting to step up from a point and shoot camera. Since I thought some of you might be in the same boat, I'm posting my response to her here. (This is not a sponsored post.)

On the Back Porch with KariAnne of Thistlewood Farm
I am very excited about the guest this week. Okay I admit I'm always excited because I interview people I love. This week is no exception with the fabulous KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. You know how most bloggers take a little time to get their feet wet? Not KariAnne, she looked like a pro right from the beginning, and she hasn't stopped since. She won the Country Living Magazine Blue Ribbon Blogger Award in 2012, but you probably already knew that. She is just as sweet as she is talented too. Here she is in her own words...
1. Why did you start a blog?
I started Thistlewood Farms in December of 2011. We purchased our turn-of-the century farmhouse and had been working on a major re-model for about two years. I wanted to join a community where other people had similar experiences and ideas and inspiration for the rest of the renovation journey.

New House Update - Sheetrock City
Oh yes, things are moving right along with our new house.
See the door and the window leaning against the wall? Well this is just part of construction. I wanted an 8 ft door for the front of the house, but they put in a standard 6 ft door instead. They changed it out no problem. BTW, this is a construction door, and not the door we ordered. The window on the floor used to be beside the fireplace. I wanted smaller windows so I could do taller built-ins.

I sure hope your summer is off to a fabulous start. We officially put our house on the market yesterday. The new house is coming along, and I just realized that I am woefully behind keeping you informed on that progress, so for the next month I will try to play catch up, showing lots of photos and progress updates on the new house.
The embarrassing truth is that the photos I showed in the last post were taken back in December. So the good news is that over the next month, it will be serious time-lapse photography. I'll get you caught on on 6 months of work over the month of June. If you want real-time photos of what is going on, be sure to like my Facebook page. The photos I show on Facebook are real-time.
Now back to THE SCOOP.
I do love this party!! It is always chocked full of inspiration and fabulous ideas. Here are the top viewed links from last week's party.
