I finally got my benches and chairs set up at the creek. Mr. CH even came down to help. (Any chore at at the deck apparently is something he can get into.)
Try not to notice the mud stains on the floor. While we were assembling the benches and chairs, it started pouring a few weeks ago. It was so exciting to witness the first rains that baptized our little tree house, that we stayed and enjoyed the sounds of the rain hitting the roof. We came down several times, wearing our Wellies to enjoy the creekside deck, tracking more and more mud. I was so happy to see rain at our ranch, that I promised I WOULD NOT complain about it.
Here's a look down the creek. This first photo shows our resident crocodile.
He's made of naturally formed stone, but we always think he looks like a croc. Does he looks like one to you?
The weather has been wonderful here lately.
Here's my little wrought iron rooster I got at Round Top, last year (I think.) He's sitting next to my coke crate of Baby's Breath.
I got the two benches and two chairs from World Market in the summer when they were discontinued. At 60% off, I couldn't resist.
I didn't know what to use an a coffee table. I have a little red wagon I brought out here, but my daughter has been playing with it, and I was concerned she not understand that I had turned it into furniture, so I decided to go a different route. I had these two wood benches under a tree that were not really being used, so I put them together to form our coffee table.
I used a vintage feedsack to cover the benches to make it a little more homey here.
I brought some magazines to enjoy.
They are in a metal basket.
I thought we might use it like a cooler to hold drinks here sometimes.
The benches and chairs have some neat details.
I bought downs several pillows.
Some of the pillows were made from antique feedsacks.
I love the texture of the old feedsacks.
And we brought our fork and spoon chandy down here.
This chandy came from the back porch. Below you can see it when it was our "dining room chandelier".
But not to worry, I have a "NEW" chandy on the back porch to replace the fork and spoon one. You can click here to see it.
Here's some more views of the creek. You can see that most everything is still green for now.
