Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!! If you are old enough, you don't need me to tell what that is referring to.
Here is what the
Urban Dictionary had to say about it,
Marsha, Marsha, Marsha
The line was originally used is the hit TV show The Brady Bunch. The character Jan was complaining Marsha, her sister, was getting all the attention at a party and got so upset that she whined "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!"
Primary definition: A whiny dramatic response by someone who is jealous of another person. The name Marsha could be changed with the name of any person you're mad at.
I know some of you are hearing a lot about Annie Sloan, and if you are tired of hearing about the paints, you are in the wrong place! (I apologize in advance.) I just love her paints and waxes.
I usually show pictures from the ranch, but today, I am at the city house. This is my daughter, Leesie's room. She is my daughter who has Down Syndrome. At the ranch, she shares a room with her sister, but in the city, she has a room all to herself.
I have been slow to change her room as she has gotten older since she doesn't complain about it. The other daughter is much more difficult to please. I really have been remiss since she still had a lot of Winnie The Pooh stuff about. I know, I know, bad mommie!!
And yes, I know her room is green. But it's not as green in person, as it is in the photo, really. And new paint for this room is "on my list". I recently purchased some new bedding, shown above, that I thought looked more "teenagery."
This is what the dresser looked like before I painted it with Annie Sloan Louis Blue paint, and then covered it with Fidde wax in Rugger Brown.
I am not a fan of golden oak, so I really surprised myself when I purchased this chest many years ago. It is an antique American chest made from Tiger Oak which does have a lovely grain, but I did not like the stain. I do however, love the curved front.
Here are some close-ups after it was painted. Of course, the dragonfly pulls are not original!!
I painted the mirror years ago. I tried to paint the flowers in a Mary Englebreit style. I used an antique glaze on this mirror instead of tinted wax.
The small small white table started out like this.
The table was painted in Annie Sloan old white and then waxed. It was from my MIL's house. It has been in the family for over 100 years. I thought the paint undated it, while keeping it's original charm.
I also repainted her TV cabinet. It used to be a preacher's bar.
I painted this in Annie Sloan old white as well. You can see that Winnie the Pooh is still on the wall.
The old brief case belonged to Mr. CH's uncle Herman, a stern man who was a country judge. If someone's cow ended up on your property, he was the man to see. Speaking of which, I think our country neighbor FINALLY got the fence fixed. I haven't seen a cow out our front window in a long time now. Here are some close-ups of the now TV cabinet.
I guess that Winnie the Pooh on the wall is why I have had a hard time painting this room. My mom and I painted that mural before my girls were born. But my little girl is turning 18, so I guess it is time for Winnie to go.
