This is a collection whites and silver things on a vintage feedsack I am using as a table runner.
This is what I did have on my dining room table. That tray got moved to my bedroom, and you can visit here if you like. (I didn't want you to think I get rid of stuff just because I get bored with it where it is.)
I replaced my heavy brocade table runner with a simple vintage feedsack that I found on eBay. I love the "G.E." intials on it, although the tray covers that part.
I added a large vintage English ironstone pitcher, also found on Ebay. (To see more English ironstone, click here.)
I found this little white pitcher at a consignment shop.
The silver tray and pitcher were purchased at a thrift store. (To see what else I got on this trip to my high-end thrift store, click here.)
I'm not sure what this little guy is, but we inherited it from my MIL. (Update - Thanks to all of you smart readers, I have learned that this is a sugar scuttle. Thanks for educating me!!)

Love your collections. I have flashes of vintage/country all over my house. It mixes so well with new furniture, or old. My sofas were purchased new last year, but I decided not to buy new coffee tables or end tables. Instead, I went to antique shops and consignment shops and found vintage pieces that I love. Still looking for a coffee table. I'm wanting an old trunk, but what I'm looking for exactly is hard to find.

You asked what I put in a room to infuse/refresh it? I think the biggest thing is just moving things around, like you did. I might have book bundles on a shelf then pile them into an old wire basket on the mantle. Also, my mom was a floral designer. Many of her clients had her come out and refresh the dried arrangements with the seasons, which for me is simple things like switching pinecones for spring flowers.

Beautiful vignettes Anita and I love all your silver pieces! My mom gave me a similar piece like yours that you received from your MIL. She said it was used for sugar.
BB (before blogging) I would go shopping, be it thrift, garage, regular store, till I found something to infuse in a room. ABS (after blogging started) now I look at everything different and have been moving everything around to infuse every room.
Nothing is junk anymore, it goes to the garage till it can be resurrected as something else.

Isn't it fun to change things up? I love changing things from room to room or just picking up one or two "new to me" things and adding them to my decor. I do love the feel of a farmhouse!

I adore the Farmhouse French style...yours and mine! I love adding things from the country into my urban setting, as well. My in~laws were farmers on the Praire. Using heirlooms brings comfort to both my husband and I. My parents were both blue collar workers in the K.C. area. Only my Dad remains of the foursome. I move things to go from Farmhouse Fench to Old World Style and from Season to Season. By rotating decor items it allows us to recall fond memories of our childhood. Loved this post!

Your pictures are beautiful, I've been to France - funny, I met folks who wanted to be cowboys.
I love all of your pitchers, specially the silver one. I don't have much silver but I am on the look out for some pitchers to use as vases for my granddaughters blessing luncheon. I will be visiting my local auction house in the next several Saturdays, am sure to find one or two there.
