So what do you know when you have left over fabric and a drawer full of doillies? Well, I made a pillow.
I decided to make it rustic, which loosely translated means simple and easy and fast.
First I found a feather pillow that was no longer being used. Then I measured fabric to make a front and back for the pillow. After cutting the fabric, I took a square doillie and pinned to a square of fabric, then sewed it in place. Then I sewed three sides, inserted the old feather pillow and continued to sew it closed. I did measure it so make sure I wasn't sewing it on crooked, but it did insist on twisting a bit.
You can see that this doillie has yellowed with age.
And here you can see it better in my room.
The cost for this project was a big, fat zero. I had the fabric left over from another project, I had a unused pillow, and a doillie just waiting for its second act. Don't you love no cost projects???
I almost forgot to mention our Cowgirl Up Christmas in July beginning July 21. Each day from July 21 to 28, we will have a post on a Christmas project. The same post will appear on 8 different blogs.

Very pretty Anita!
It looks great, and how satisfying it must be that it cost you $0 to make!
