It's probably difficult to see in the photos, but these chairs (all six of them x 4 legs each) were painted by moi. To prove it, I am showing a close-up that shows my paint drips. You may call them paint drips, but I call them "Character."
When I purchased these French chairs at the auction, they were a stained a dark brown. At the time, I had an antique scrubbed pine table, and I thought the chairs needed to be painted to go better with the table, so I painted them a cheery yellow.
At the time I used a glaze to antique them, then sanded them down in areas to simulate wear and age.
Be sure to come back, and I'll show you the rest of the painting. I also painted the entire breakfast room, and the kitchen, and a few other things.

I am laughing, dear friend, NOT at you...but a precious quote from my beloved father~in~law. Community members called him,"Matt Dillon of Linn Co." and my beloved mother~in~law..."She taught Lucille Ball everything she knows!!!" What a pair...and I dearly loved them both! Mary painted the woodwork in her home every Spring. Once, while visiting from our military duties, Dad said,
"Don't stand in one spot too long Pat. Once Mary gets a paint brush in her hand...she won't stop til she paints everything in sight...or runs out of paint...whichever comes first!" I'll be back to see if you've finished painting or run out of paint! Ha! Love the chairs!!!
