I'm pretty excited today, because I've got a special surprise for you. Wait a minute, you've probably read the title of the post, so you already know the surprise. (Could you just pretend not to know for just a minute and humor me?)
I have always adored a certain Frenchy blog. This blog is always stunningly gorgeous. My mouth drops open just about every time I pull up her blog, and I think it's a good thing she doesn't live nearby, because I would want to get a peek at what she is doing, not content to wait until it shows up on her blog. (Yes, I would be the nosy neighbor, Gladys from Bewitched, looking through binoculars to see how she does it.)
So here she is, Courtney from French Country Cottage!!!
Hi everyone!!
My name is Courtney and I write the blog French Country Cottage.
I am so thrilled to be posting over here at Anita's beautiful blog today!
We live in a 1940's cottage in beautiful California
that we have been fixing up bit by bit over the years.
I thought that I would share a few of my favorite rooms and posts today.
I love vintage treasures~ and you can find me shopping the thrift stores looking for the next find.
These tables are new favorites ~ I love their worn paint and shabby finish.
This year the dining room got a whole new look with a pair of new chandeliers
We also made an extra large chalkboard from a sheet of plywood and moulding.
I love setting a beautiful shabby inspired table~ this one was so much to set up.
My kitchen is another favorite room.
When I first walked into it- I was instantly in love with the original tall white cupboards.
One of the things we did when remodeling was add the black island which is new but vintage inspired.
Probably my favorite room is my bedroom.
I love the warm colors, architectural details and mix of vintage and new.
This room was an addition about 5 years ago and so we were able to design it from
the start rather than work with what was already there like we did with the rest of the house.
Here is the fireplace ready for Autumn with roses and pumpkins
and a photo of the bedroom dressed for Christmas last year.
We also remodeled a once tiny bathroom and created a master bathroom covered in
one of my favorite patterns~ floral toile.
I hope you enjoyed a little mini- tour around my home and would love if you stopped by
French Country Cottage to say hello!
Thank you so very much Anita for having me over today!
Happy Holidays everyone!
Thanks Courtney!

Oh Anita what a great guest to have over! I just adore Courtney!
Wow Anita! What an honor to have Courtney guest post on your blog. I swoon every time I look at one of the gorgeous photos of her home. She was featured in the Sprint 2013 Romantic Country magazine! I adore looking at her blog and style and I also really enjoy seeing your projects. Just painted three chairs with Annie Sloan paint (first time using this product) If I get good light tomorrow and it's not too late I hope to link up to your party. I've been doing some tweaking and painting now that I'm retired. How are things coming along with your new house plans?
Always a treat to see Courtney's beautiful home!
xx
