Burlap What-not holder

I'm not sure what to call this.  I found it at Decor Steals.  I guess if I had to make up a name for it, it would be a burlap thingy.  I mean really, what is it?

What even without a name, I still love it.  It sits in the girls room at the ranch.  This is also where we occasionally put up guests, since we only have two bedrooms here.

It took me awhile to decide what to put in the thingy, but then I decided it was the perfect size for brochures about the area.  Guests can easily find these brochures and look into what there might be do nearby besides sip tea on my back porch.

For awhile now I have been pondering what to do in this corner.  I left a question on the ranch's Facebook page asking what I should do since I wanted to paint this chest. Turns out people have definite opinions.  Come back next week, and I'll show you what I did in here.  Because of their feedback, my plan changed completely.

I used to have red dresses on the walls, and colorful quilts on the beds, but they have slowly been replaced by white.

Here's a list of the parties that I visit on a regular basis.  I might have shared this link at any number of these.

My New House, well.. Almost

**Spoiler Alert**

Oh wait, I always do that backwards.  So now you know we didn't buy this house, but it is so gorgeous, I thought you enjoy seeing it, any way.  We are looking for a new city place closer to the mister's office, and so the house hunting has begun.  (We divide our time between the city and the country.) We don't want to sell our current city house until the youngest graduates in two years, so the plan is to just become familiar with the neighborhoods, streets, and so forth.  I knew that we weren't ready for house now, but I also knew a gorgeous historic home on a double lot wouldn't come around very often.  That's why we I seriously considered buying it.

If you like to peek into other people's houses as much as I do, then come along.

Just look at this gorgeous kitchen with 10 ft. ceilings.

This house was built about 100 years ago, and has been on the local home tour. Did you see the original light fixture, the transoms above the doors, and the stained glass window?

The kitchen though is entirely new.

The house has very tall ceilings, and transoms over the doors to let lots of light into each room.

What is it about the fall that just makes you want to take a deep breath?  Our hot Texas temps are starting to drop and there seems to be a cool breeze in the mornings.  My kids are off at school and we are attending open house next week . . . already!  Today, we picked up some lovely containers of mums, coleus, and purple fountain grass as well as a few pumpkins.  The front of the house is felling like autumn and I will be sharing a unique door decoration this week.
With that said, here are the features for this week!
My jaw dropped when I saw the Fall Rag Garland by The Creek Line House.  So beautiful, easy, and a great idea for recycling old fabrics.
This frugal pumpkin creation by Posed Perfection would be a great project to try with your kiddos!
In my head, I could be a great seamstress . . . just getting there is the issue, but I love this sketched artwork pillow by About Blogging Time.
