The Three Little Bears

I've always think of the three little bears when I see this room.

I've been working on this room for awhile now, bit by bit.

I just recently changed out the lamps.

Don't you just love that embroidery work on the shades? The shades are actually white, but look pink when the lamps are on.

I used some lamps I already had, painted them, and bought new shades. Here's the before of the lamp bases.  I used my homemade chalk paint, you can click here for the recipe.

Two of the beds are for my girls and the other one is for a visiting friend or grandma.  You might remember a previous post where I explained why I believe everyone should have a headboard, click here if you missed it.  These beds have been without headboards for a long time now. Somehow the headboards were not in the budget as we did this and that at the ranch.

I wanted white iron headboards for the room, but also couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.  Then I found some adorable headboards, but they were $250 each (x3) I decided to wait.

Then I saw these at Target online for about $100 each.  It looks like they have had another price reduction, because they are now $95,  click here.  These are actually part of Rachel Ashwell's Simply Shabby Chic line.  They were on clearance, and you know I love clearance!!

Here's a before photo of the room.  It's a subtle difference, but I think the headboards and lamps make the room look finished.  Here's a before below.  The lamp shades are just too small for the room. I knew that, it just took me awhile to decide what to do in here.

I purchased all of the ottomans from TJ Maxx, then slipcovered them in burlap.

And because I just couldn't leave it along, I moved some other lamps around.  Here's what the red chest looks like now with the newer lamps.

Here's the lamps I had here before.  I just didn't think the lamps went well with the chest, although the shades had red in them.

Sooo, I'm thinking I'm done with this room finally.  Did I say 'done'? I meant 'done for now'.

Anita,
The addition of the white scroll headboards takes this room to the sweetness it was intended to have! My heart warmed when you said two girls and Grandma (or friend)!!! What a precious idea for sleep~overs!!!
Love what you've done with the lamps, dear friend!!! I have one lamp that needs a re~vamp duing my make~over for Studio One. I'll be viewing your homemade paint recipe soon!!! The ottomans and baskets give the room an, "It's okay to use" message! I like that!!!
Creativity and inspiration abound!
Fondly,
Pat

Did I ever tell you I purchased two small old cattle gates to do this after I pinned it last year? I wonder where they are? I wonder where on earth I thought I was going to hang them?

I had to reread the headboard post and I'm so glad I did. Loved your description of the delivery. The new headboards and lamps are perfect -although I thought the room was picture perfect before. What a great deal on the headboards too and so timeless.

SWEET! I love what the headboards add, as well as the lamp shades. I think it looks perfect. If you make any changes at all, I'd wager they'll be in the area of your red chest...
And I know what you mean when you say, "for now." My house is constantly being tweaked!

Holy Moly, can you say perfect? Love every bit of this room. The headboards were a wonderful find. I had been asking myself how you were going to find 3 vintage headboards alike. Of course I wouldn't have minded 3 different headboards. The change in lampshades really does make a difference. Great job.
